Sheroes in Games Wiki
According to a recent study developed by Ruth S. Contreras-Espinosa and Carlos A. Scolari (How Do Teens Learn to Play Video Games? 2019), the practices associated with playing video games in adolescents involve informal learning strategies (ILS) that occur outside the context of schooling and the purview of parents. The authors identify the main ILSs that adolescents use while they acquire and build their digital literacy in video games; and they propose a series of categories for classification and analysis. ILS modalities discussed include: learning by doing, problem-solving strategies, imitation, play, assessment, and teaching.
